Here Is Why Your Skin Will Love Double Cleansing
Growing up from your teenage years and finding out that just washing your face with soap isn’t enough cleansing is probably shocking. There is this thing called double cleansing, and you must have it in your life so that your skin can radiate the positive energy you have showered on it. Especially if you wear makeup!
What Is Double Cleansing?
To double cleanse is a method of washing the face twice. The first time you are cleansing, you will use an oil-based cleanser and cleanse again using a water-based cleanser. It will help you remove pore-clogging, stubborn and acne-causing impurities that can stay on the skin even when you have washed your face the first time.
The significant advantage of double cleansing is that the first cleanser you use will break down the makeup residue, remove dirt, and all the excess oils in your skin and clean it. Then the second cleanser will deal with some skin types and their concerns and must include ingredients that smooth, hydrate, and exfoliate while treating acne. These steps will ensure that all treatments and moisturizing are not done in vain.
Why Should You Double Cleanse?
Double cleansing can be a two-step process that will add some minutes into your everyday routine, but it isn’t the one that will fit all. By knowing the skin type and thinking of the specific skin issues, picking the right kind of double cleansing bundle is the key to always ensuring that you get the most out of this routine.
Using a double cleansing product for your skin type will let you avoid overwashing and over-drying the skin. If you strip off too much of the natural oils from the skin, your body may respond through breakouts and irritations caused by the production of excess oil.
So when you know what double cleansing is, let’s see how to do it.
How To Do Double Cleansing?
No matter you have dry skin or oily one, these following steps are all the same for doing double cleansing:
- Applying the cleansing balm, oil, or micellar water on dry skin
- Use a cotton pad, your fingers, or soft cloth to massage in the first cleanser in the skin; this will break down the sebum, makeup, and sunscreen residues.
- Now wet your face using water
- Apply the second cleaner now and massage in your skin, using the fingertips or a soft cloth
- Rinse the cleanser off and pat the face dry
This is all about double cleansing, but you should know different cleansers for different skin types.
